EMTELLI Inc. has developed a contactless, non-destructive, and real-time inspection system (BallSight™) that uses electromagnetic technology to measure the inclination and eccentricity of the inner core of a golf ball and select golf balls that are uniform on the inside and close to symmetry. This technology was completed by analyzing the change in the transmission characteristics that electromagnetic waves experience in the process of penetrating the golf ball.

• The uniformity of the ball is evaluated by quantifying the difference between the maximum and minimum sums of transmission coefficients (defined as SOD, Sum of Deviation) within the measurement frequency while rotating the measurement plane of the golf ball. Therefore, the lower the SOD value, the higher the uniformity of the golf ball.
